Dear Parent, welcome to Stockport Rugby Club Mini’s.
Please take the time to read this leaflet to get an impression of what SRUFC Mini’s is all about.
At Stockport rugby club Minis & Juniors we take great pride in promoting an all inclusive approach to rugby regardless of age, previous experience, skill or whether your child is male or female. We truly believe Rugby can be played at all levels and age groups from social to the next Jonny Wilkinson! The important bit is fun.
Whatever the age, ability or previous expertise your child has had, we have a coach to match.
We have many players from local schools and from personal experience it’s at great way for your child (and yourself ) to get a local network together, many friends have been made simply by watching on the touch line!
For the older children (U9) we are hoping to plan a tour this year and arrange some “socials” for the long suffering Mums & Dads to lament the joys of parenthood. Parents and Players are also encouraged to come into the club after training / matches to have a drink and a chat.
Please look at Gallery to give you an idea of what it’s all about and how the kids enjoy it.
Later sections of this leaflet explain the details, but we highly recommend just turning up to see if you (yes you) and your child are interested, the coaches will give you all the details you need.
The Mini & Junior section is run for the players by qualified volunteers (Parents) who are CRB checked and fully RFU trained.
There is no commitment required from your child just to give it a go and if after a couple of sessions they want to continue they can join the club.
