Manchester & District Orienteering Club has members across South Manchester, Stockport, Macclesfield and Congleton, with the largest concentration being around the Bramhall/Hazel Grove area.
We have a wide range of ages and abilities, from 5-90 years and from beginners to members of the national junior team.
Orienteering is a sport that can be enjoyed by all the family, you get to choose the speed you want to go at, the challenge is to navigate round a course accurately, sometimes walking is faster than running.
We run over 20 events per year, many in local parks like Bramhall, we maintain a series of permanent courses that can be used for practise, Bramhall and Bruntwood parks both have courses.
Our special aims for 2008 are to increase participation, through a series of introductory events in Lyme Park this April, and also to hold the first ever Stockport centre race in June.
