Woodford Community Players are staging the celebrated Agatha Christie courtroom drama Witness for the Prosecution, at the Woodford Centre on Chester Road, Woodford.

Featuring a highly innovative set design which has the audience forming the public gallery of the court, the play sees a young man accused of the murder of a wealthy woman whose will had recently been re-written in his favour. Despite damningcircumstantial evidence, however, his barrister is convinced of his innocence and determined to prove it, only to find his case apparently faithfully undermined when the accused’s wife swears away his alibi. But this is not the only twist in this intriguing tale.

Witness it for yourself! The ‘trial’ will be enacted between Wednesday 21st May and Saturday 24th May, evening performances commencing at 7.30 pm prompt.
