Bill Macllwraith's play, filled with acid humour and delicious verbal
sword play, deals with the dynamics in a family where the Matriarch most definitely rules the roost. Malevolent and incredibly possessive, Mother keeps a tight hold on all three of her sons with gifts, threats and ruthless exploitation of their weaknesses.
But rebellion is in the air
when the family are unwillingly brought together to celebrate Mum's
wedding anniversary (regardless of deceased Dad). One son plans to
emigrate to Canada and the youngest son wants to get married, but can they summon up the courage to confess all to Mum? She's not going to relinquish her supremacy without a good fight!
