Christmas Concerts at Bramall Hall

The music of Christmas begins at  Bramall Hall on Tuesday 11th December and Wednesday 19th December. Here we come a-carolling...with Renaissance concert offers a real treasure trove of Christmas carols, songs and music. From traditional carols which we can all join in with, to spirituals, seasonal classics and the truly contemporary.

Concert starts at 8.00pm, Hall opens at 7.00pm

On Wednesday 12th December Gordon Giltrap will be performing at the Hall. Gordon is one of the great guitarists of the modern age. One of his hits ‘heartsong’ was nominated for the prestigious Ivor Novello award, and used for many years by the BBC for its ‘Holiday Programme’.

Tickets for this event include a glass of mulled wine and a delicious mince pie.

Friday 14th December see's 'Sotto Voce' performing 'T'was a Starlit Night'. All members of ‘Sotto voce’ are accomplished musicians. Individuals also sing with many other choirs including the Halle. Their performance at Bramall will include much loved songs from musical theatre, combined with Christmas carols and prose for all to enjoy.

Remembering 'Christmas of Times Past', A Tapestry of Music will perform with a variety of instruments on Monday 17th December. Come and share the yuletide cheer of our ancestors with Tapestry of Music clad in Tudor Costume. The group will lead you through musical treats including music from the unusual sounds of the duduk, oud, saz, harp, hurdy-gurdy, lute etc.

Ticket price for this event includes a glass of mulled wine and a delicious mince pie.

A Musical Christmas Feast with The Heritage Singers and Players will take place on Tuesday 18th December. The Heritage Singers and players return for this special Christmas-tide performance, with a wealth of carols both traditional and modern. As always they are joined by fine musicians including The Athenean String Quartet.

Ticket price for this event includes a glass of mulled wine and a delicious mince pie.

Thursday 20th and Friday 21st December will see 'Figgy Pudding' - In the tradition of Humbug! An evening of mistletoe, myrrh, merriment and memories to celebrate the magic of Christmas. Join us around the hearth for a feast of words and music with the company of the players evolved from Bramall’s Humbug team.

Ticket price for this event includes a glass of mulled wine and a delicious mince pie.

And finally on Christmas Eve, Monday 24th December Bramall Hall will host a tradition Chirstmas Carol Service at both 1.30pm and 3.00pm. These special services are to remind us that Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and as such herald the season of goodwill.

Price: £3.00 all proceeds to Christian Aid.
