Poynton Home Gardeners' Club has existed for many years, because there was a demand for a practical society to help with advice on day to day care and maintenance of new and existing gardens in the area.
The Club still meets every month (Except August) at 7.30 p.m. at Poynton Community Centre, 107 Park Lane, Poynton, Cheshire, SK12 1RB. Meetings last about 11/2to 2 hours.
Meetings usually have a guest speaker; the subjects are varied, but always entertaining, and range from practical advice on growing fruit and vegetables, to how to encourage wildlife to live in your garden. Last year we had fun one evening, learning how to prepare and then tasting vegetarian food!
We welcome new members; visitors and guests may attend meetings for a small fee. You don't need to be an expert gardener to enjoy hearing our speakers; you don't even need to have a garden!
