Pupils at Vernon Primary School enjoy an outstanding curriculum, and that’s official!

Mrs Joanne Glimmerveen, Head teacher at the Poynton school, said “We are absolutely delighted and immensely proud of our Ofsted report.  It paints a positive and true picture of our school.  The report reflects the hard work and enthusiasm of our pupils, staff, Governors, parents, carers and our community partners.”

In the report, the Inspection team highlighted:

  • An outstanding curriculum has been put in place.  The curriculum is planned carefully to meet the needs of all learners and ensures equality of opportunity to all pupils
  • The school is a good school, with some outstanding features
  • Pupils are eager to come to school, have positive attitudes and display exemplary behaviour
  • There is a good quality pastoral, academic care and guidance that all pupils receive

The Inspectors commended the Head teacher for an outstanding contribution, in ensuring clear direction for the school’s development, and concluded that the school’s leadership is excellently placed to make further improvements.
