Summer Fun at Vernon Primary School

Vernon Primary School held their Summer Fair on 4th July, at which an estimated £4,500 was raised for PTA funds.

Despite a poor weather forecast, the sun shone down as the crowds watched displays in the main arena from the School Dance and Line Dancing clubs, the local Karate club, Pixies Cheerleaders and High Lane Pet Dog Training Club.  Members of Stockport Rugby Club also organised a Rugby Rounders tournament.

There were numerous stalls and attractions, including a coconut shy, penalty shoot out and a treasure trove.

Joanne Glimmerveen, Headteacher at the Poynton school, said “Year after year our school fair is an enormous success and this year was no exception.  Everyone enjoyed a fantastic afternoon and it proved to be a wonderful community event.”
