Lostock Rangers Junior Football Club provides community football for children in Poynton and the surrounding area. The Club has teams from Under 8’s through to Under 17’s in the Stockport Metro League.
Last month saw the first anniversary of the The Lostock Rangers Football Academy, which is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for children between 5 and 7 years of age. The Academy gives children a chance to have fun and play games, not just football. The Academy takes place on a Saturday morning at fantastic facilities at Macclesfield Rugby Club, between 10am and 12pm. Facilities include FA accredited coaches, Astroturf and grass pitches. The children are given the opportunity to have a fun induction to football, leading into formal team structures and league games.
Darren Provost who heads up the Academy said “the purpose of the Lostock Academy is to eventually provide a positive and influential progression to the Under 8’s teams each year. The Academy is seen as being the next step in Lostocks evolution and will provide a sound basis for future Lostock teams. All children are given the chance to try football in an environment that stimulates their natural talents.”
In some teams Lostock operates multiple teams. The Club is continually looking for new players and coaches. Currently, Lostock are looking for players for next season to play in the Under 9’s and the Under 11’s teams. In addition, the current Under 8’s teams are looking for two goalkeepers.
