Hyde 46, Poynton 47-0. Poynton won by 10 wickets.
It was all over before 4 pm at Poynton as Hyde ended their league campaign with a heavy defeat that puts them in serious relegation trouble – Poynton now needing only three points from two games and Appleton five to overhaul them. Jo Hurlston made 17 bit no other batsman managed more than four. From the relative security of 26-1, the rot set in with four wickets for five runs in quick time from Rebecca Platt. Sarah Hollins then turned the screw with 4-3, including a hat-trick to end the innings which started with a big turning delivery to dismiss Leesa Mellon, the last of the top order, before numbers 10 and 11 followed in the next two balls. Hyde unleashed their three Cheshire bowlers in reply, but to no avail as two Cheshire batsmen – Hannah Gradwell and Sarah McCann saw Poynton home without alarm.
