Commodores play for ‘X- Factor’
On Monday, 25th June, the Commodores and Commodore Cadets braved the cold and wet to welcome the Mayor and Judges for the Manchester Auditions of X Factor at the Lowry Hotel in Salford. In a fantastic setting behind the Hotel, where the suspension Bridge crosses the canal, the Brass section stood on the steps with the Drums arced behind them on the bridge. The Pit section and the Colour Guard were next to the platform with the judges and the Mayor. The crowd cheered when they played the ‘X’ factor theme and then went on to play Paul Halley’s Appalachian Morning. The members were delighted when Simon Cowell took the time to talk to them and shake their hands. Later, they filmed for the Extra Factor with Fearne Cotton and the Mayor. It was all great fun and another great memory for the Corps.
