Year 2 children at the Vernon Infant School in Poynton recently enjoyed a fun packed afternoon of P.E. activities at Poynton Leisure Centre. Forty children from Vernon Infants went to the P.E. Festival which was run by students at Poynton High School, and organised through the Schools Sports Partnership. Children from Disley Primary School also attended. The children rotated around various activities testing their skills in agility, balance and co-ordination.
Julie Russell, a Year 2 teacher and P.E. subject leader at the school, said “we were delighted to be invited to the P.E. Festival. The children thoroughly enjoyed their experience and gained confidence when practising new skills. The Festival was run very efficiently by the students and they had an excellent manner with the children.”
