RSPCA SHORT OF STORAGE SPACE
|
|
The RSPCA Macclesfield SE Cheshire & Buxton Branch is desperate for dry, secure storage space for goods and materials associated with its role in this area. At present they are, on a short term basis, hiring commercial storage space but this is a drain on resouces and money which could be better spent helping animals. They hope that somewhere in their branch area someone would be willing to offfer the necessary storage facilities free of charge.
Branch publicity officer, Michael Rutherford, explains, "Over the years we have gathered a lot of equipment and materials to run our various fundraising stalls and events and these are currently stored in a facility provided through one of our volunteers. Unfortunately, it is not really a dry store and can only be used for many less vulnerable items. On the other hand, the branch is often given good as new items or end of range goods to sell at markets and events and these really do need dry storage. So that is the aim of this appeal. Ideally, we need a 100 square feet or more which can easily be accessed without disturbing the owner."
The branch does not have any facilities of its own and is entirely operated from private homes by a dedicated band of volunteers. They would like a shop in due course to assist with selling goods to raise funds for the animals and, probably even then, would still need additional storage. So that issue is likely to be long term.
It is hoped that someone, be it a private individual or commercial concern will be kind enough to help the branch and therefore its animals in need in this roundabout way. The branch area runs from Styal to Bollington, Buxton, Bosley, Alsager, Sandbach and back to Styal, so is significant! Ideally, any space offered should be central to the area, so in or around Macclesfield or Congleton but, in the event, anywhere will do.
Anyone being able to help ther branch in its search for storage should either email the branch - enquiries@rspca-macclesfield.org.uk - or telephone 01625 669620.
