STRICTLY COME SINGING

The Society would like to thank those who joined us for a “bit of a sing” last Saturday 19th April at St. George’s Church Hall, Poynton.

Dare I say it - we all had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.  Under the skilful baton of Catherine Silman and pianist Joyce Deighton, not only did we master a selection of new sheet music numbers but also had a go at some challenging choruses from G&S Pirates of Penzance.

We are pleased to report that at least fifteen people elected to come along and sing with us: this included one couple who had travelled into Higher Poynton by canal and, having seen our poster at the Boar’s Head, felt compelled to walk down and sample the fun.

Two ladies who sang with us that afternoon have since decided to "give it a whirl" and join us for our regular rehearsals (usually held at St Martin’s Church Hall on Wednesdays at 8pm).  Any further volunteers will of course be very welcome.

Now we are now “under way” for our next concert to be held on May 7th (see separate note for details).

If you would like any further information, please contact our Secretary, Jeannette Wood, on 01625-873198.
