Students and staff were in celebratory mood at Poynton High School and Performing Arts College following their recent Ofsted inspection which graded both the main school and the Sixth Form as ‘Outstanding’.  Headteacher Mrs Sue Adamson said, “We are particularly delighted that so many individual aspects of the school’s work received outstanding assessments and have been praised so warmly in the written report.  These judgements obviously contributed to the overall evaluation.  We are immensely proud of this wonderful achievement.  Students and staff made an excellent impression during the Inspection itself but the outstanding grade reflects the collective effort of students, staff, governors, parents and community partners over the four year period since our last Inspection”.

Nationally inspection judgements are recorded for five key aspects of a school’s work: Overall effectiveness; Achievement and standards; Personal development and wellbeing of learners; Quality of provision (encompassing standards of teaching and learning, the curriculum and care, guidance and support); and Leadership and management.

Poynton High School received outstanding judgements in each of these separate categories.
