BAE Systems Woodford : Engine Ground Running, 29 and 31 August 2009

Dear Resident,

This is to let you know that engine ground running is planned on the airfield at BAE Systems Woodford site for the first production Nimrod MRA4 aircraft this coming Bank Holiday weekend, namely on Saturday 29 August and Monday 31 August.  No engine running is planned for Sunday 30 August.

Out of respect for our local residents we do our best to avoid weekend working, and it is very much by exception.  On this occasion it has proved to be necessary, as we need to test the aircraft in readiness for its first flight in the coming days.  The Nimrod MRA4 programme is of national importance to the UK Ministry of Defence and to the RAF, and our key focus at Woodford is to ensure that we meet the agreed customer delivery dates for the nine aircraft fleet.

If anyone wants further clarification on this activity over the Bank holiday I would be happy to take calls on M. 07971 114483.  Thank you for your kind cooperation and understanding.
