2nd Poynton Scouts
Six new Beavers and eight Cubs have been invested into the group. The Beaver pack from September will be 15 strong and there is already a waiting list to join. A further 3 cubs have moved from 1st Poynton and 3 more will be moving up from Beavers, this makes a full complement. Parents wanting to put there boys or girls on the waiting list should contact Gordon Hood on 01625-871507 or 07973-617201. Pictured with the Beavers are leaders Laura Smith and district leader Diana Stafford and with the Cubs, Group Scout Leader Gordon Hood and district Leaders Howard Reeves and Mike Drew. Second Poynton have a strong Scout section, we have excellent facilities including a climbing wall as well as five sailing boats plus help from experienced instructors and leaders. Scout summer activities have been predominantly sailing cumulating with a weekend camp in beautiful settings, on the Banks of Rudyard Lake. Cubs are planning to join 24th Macclesfield on a Lads and Dads Camp in September, always a popular event. Beavers will be taking part in the The restart of the Beaver and Scout Sections has been immensely successful and has saved a vital facility for the Community. Thanks must go to all those in the background who thought they could retire gracefully but had the energy and drive to rebuild the group.
