POYNTON SHOW STALL SUCCESS

This year's Poynton Show once again attracted the area's local RSPCA branch - RSPCA Macclesfield SE Cheshire & Buxton - to take a stand at this popular event.

After lots of discussion it was decided to run a traditional tombola at 40p per dip in the bucket to pick out a ticket.  The volunteers running the stall were delighted with the public's response which raised £186 towards local animal welfare.

Branch volunteer co-ordinator, Gillian who manned the stall last year said "We had new and local volunteers in the Poynton/Macclesfield areas this time who stepped forward to help.  This made things much easier for 2007.  The 2006 attendance by the branch was our first for many years, so a second year is hopefully going to ensure that a RSPCA presence at Poynton is going to be regular, year on year."

People in Poynton and south to Macclesfield who love animals and might consider volunteering for the branch should go to their web site - www.rspca-macclesfield.org.uk - and click the "Hands up..." advertising panel on any page.
