Write a poem about Poynton.

A poem about someone or something from your home town can win you a top prize in this annual competition.

Anyone can submit up to three poems for the competition. The top poem will win £1,000 cash. There is no age limit and no entry fee.

'The poem can be about something or someone from the poet's home area' explained United Press Publications Director, Peter Quinn. 'It can be descriptive, historic, romantic, political or personal - anything you like, as long as there is some local connection. This competition is open to anyone and is completely free to enter - so what have you got to lose?'

Send up to THREE poems, up to 20 lines and 160 words each, by the annual closing date of December 31st to -
