A number of parents from the Vernon Infant and Junior Schools in Poynton are doing the 10k BUPA Great Manchester Run on 20th May and, in doing so, are fundraising for various charities.
Four of the parents, known as ‘Team Vernon’, are raising money for Christie's. Christie's raises money for the Christie Hospital, one of Europe's largest cancer treatment centres, treating more than 40,000 patients every year from Greater Manchester, Cheshire and beyond. Their vision is a future without cancer and they aim to provide ever more effective treatments for patients so their chances of surviving cancer are greatly increased.
