It has been 100 years since the first Scout Camp run by Baden Powell at Brownsea Island Dorset.

Zip Wire

2nd Poynton Celebrated with a camp at our HQ on Saturday the 26th May. We built the best ever Zip wire in the Coppice and a Monkey Bridge across the stream. Not all escaped without a soaking!

Recent activities included night walks to selected grid references, firing alien’s (eggs) attached to our home made air rockets to see which would survive and then launching a model rocket 600ft into the sky.

On The Monkey Bridge

We go sailing and rock climbing every June and in July we have a weekend camp on the shores of Rudyard Lake near Leek. We take our own boats and the scouts sleep under canvas, cook their own food, sail, play and enjoy the evening campfire, the leaders enjoy the facilities of the Sea Scout bungalow.
